New Jelastic feature – FTP and FTP-SSL

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve added full FTP and FTP-SSL support to Jelastic to allow you to login directly and (optionally) securely to your servers. This frequently requested feature will allow you to perform operations such as:

  • Downloading log files
  • Uploading/downloading web applications and other files
  • Making changes to your configuration files

FTP requires a public IP address in order to work. You can either enable a public IP address on your web server through our “Topology wizard”, or it will be automatically enabled when you install the FTP add­on.

To enable FTP and FTP-­SSL simply click on the “Add­ons” button next to your web server, and click “Install” right below FTP.

Install Jelastic FTP Add-on

The connection details will be emailed to you and you can start using FTP and FTP-­SSL. There is no extra cost for enabling FTP other that the price for the IP address (around £2/month, unless you already have one).

If you want to disable FTP go to “Add­ons” and click “Uninstall”. If your application doesn’t require a public IP address, don’t forget to disable it our “Topology wizard”.
